What makes Mare different?

Unlike our terry towel collections, Mare is woven as a lightweight peshtemal. Its feather-light construction folds into a compact size, dries quickly, and is designed for travel, beach days, and everyday versatility.

Why did Green Petition create Mare?

We wanted to offer a more sustainable alternative to conventional dyed peshtemals. Mare combines lightweight comfort with our Color Without Dye philosophy, creating a towel that feels familiar while being thoughtfully reimagined.

Why does Mare use organic cotton?

Creating a fabric this light, soft, and durable required a different approach. Mare blends undyed organic cotton with recycled fibers to achieve its feather-light construction while staying as faithful as possible to our Color Without Dye philosophy.

What is Color Without Dye?

Instead of creating colors through conventional dyeing, Green Petition creates new color combinations by carefully composing recycled fibers in their existing colors. This approach reduces unnecessary dye use while giving valuable materials a second life.

Why is Mare's motto "GREEN PETITION LITE"?

Every Green Petition towel carries two woven signatures: our name and its motto.

Most of our collections proudly wear 100% RECYCLED.

Mare is different.

We wanted to create a lightweight alternative to the conventional dyed peshtemals already on the market—without giving up our commitment to Color Without Dye.

To achieve the softness, fine weave, and feather-light feel we were looking for, we blended undyed organic cotton with recycled fibers. Using 100% recycled yarns simply wouldn't have delivered the same result.

And yes—there's a little smile hidden in the name.

Since Mare isn't made from 100% recycled materials, we didn't think 100% RECYCLED belonged on the towel. So instead, we gave it its own woven motto:

GREEN PETITION LITE.
