Solea was created for those who move lightly through the world. Inspired by the ancient tradition of the peshtemal — the original lightweight towel — Solea reinterprets a timeless design through Green Petition's Color Without Dye philosophy.

Every stripe is composed from recovered fibers that already carry their color, woven together with natural organic cotton instead of passing through a dye bath. The result is a set of colorways that feel both familiar and entirely new. Lightweight enough to carry anywhere, beautiful enough to keep forever.

What makes Solea different?

Solea is Green Petition's featherlight peshtemal collection. Each piece is flat-woven in a generous 90 × 180 cm / 35" × 70" format from 50% organic cotton, 25% recycled cotton, and 25% recycled polyester, and colored through our Color Without Dye philosophy. The result is a soft, breathable peshtemal made for travel, beach days, and hammam rituals.

Why is Solea so lightweight?

Solea follows the peshtemal tradition: a flat-woven textile designed for lightness and quick drying. Without terry loops, it is much lighter than a terry towel and folds into a small roll for beach bags, carry-ons, and gym bags, while remaining soft and absorbent.

Are Solea colors created without dyes?

Yes. The color in every Solea stripe comes from recovered fibers that already carry their shade. These fibers are carefully sorted and combined with natural organic cotton, so no conventional dye bath is used to add color afterward.

Why does Solea combine organic cotton with recycled fibers?

A peshtemal needs a fine weave, a soft drape, and a feather-light feel. Fully recycled yarns could not deliver that result, so Solea blends organic cotton with recycled cotton and recycled polyester. Half of every peshtemal comes from recovered materials and half from organic cotton. Solea is supported by the Organic Blended Content Standard, the Global Recycled Standard, and OEKO-TEX Standard 100; each piece's Digital Passport shows its material and certification details.

How is Solea different from Mare?

Solea and Mare share the same featherlight flat weave and material blend. Mare measures 90 × 170 cm / 35" × 67" and carries the relaxed, classic spirit of the traditional peshtemal in colorways that echo our DELMOR towels. Solea is slightly longer at 90 × 180 cm / 35" × 70" and brings a more vivid beach expression, with six bolder color stories: Amber, Ruby, Aqua, Plum, Candy, and Azure.
