Featherlight Towels were created for the days when a towel needs to do more while taking up less space: a soft layer in a suitcase, a beach companion that folds easily, a hammam towel, a poolside wrap, or a light cover after swimming.
This collection brings together MARE and SOLEA, Green Petition’s lightweight towel and peshtemal families. MARE carries the relaxed freedom of the flat-woven peshtemal tradition — simple, versatile, and easy to move with. SOLEA brings a more vivid beach expression to the same featherlight world, designed around color, rhythm, and warm-weather rituals.
Unlike Green Petition’s terry towel collections, MARE and SOLEA are made in a generous 90 × 170 cm / 35” × 67” format from an organic cotton and recycled fiber blend: 50% organic cotton, 25% recycled cotton, and 25% recycled polyester. This composition helps the fabric stay light, breathable, soft, and practical while remaining aligned with Green Petition’s material values.
Each piece is colored without dye through Green Petition’s Color Without Dye philosophy. Instead of relying on conventional dyeing, Green Petition works with the existing colors of recovered materials, carefully composing them into vibrant, distinctive colorways designed to keep their beauty over time when cared for according to the instructions.
The same design thinking continues into the packaging. During textile production, a small amount of yarn surplus naturally remains. Instead of treating these remaining yarns as waste, Green Petition transforms them into product-specific knitted packages made for that exact product and colorway.
Finished with water-based printing and designed for carrying, storing, and gifting, the package becomes part of the product experience — not an afterthought.
MARE and SOLEA are supported by relevant certification layers, including Organic Blended Content Standard, Global Recycled Standard, and OEKO-TEX Standard 100 for tested material safety. Each original Green Petition product also includes a QR tag connected to its QR-based Digital Passport, offering product information, material details, and traceability.
